Vivian is located in extreme northwest Louisiana, close to Texas and Arkansas, in Caddo Parish. It is on Louisiana Highway 1, and about half-way between Shreveport and Texarkana, in the heart of the Ark-La-Tex Region.
Other nearby towns include Mooringsport, Hosston, Oil City, Gilliam, Ida, Benton, Belcher, Dixie, Plain Dealing, and Rodessa.
Springhill is the home to about 4,000 residents. It is close to Caddo Lake to the southeast and Black Bayou Lake to the northwest. It is the site of the annual Redbud Festival.
