Springhill is located in extreme north Louisiana, virtually on the Arkansas border, in Webster Parish.

Established in 1896, today Springhill is the home to nearly 6,000 residents.

The main north-south route through Springhill is U.S. Highway 371, and Louisiana Highway 2. To the south is located the town of Cotton Valley.

The main industry in the area is the timber industry, and the early success of the town was due to the Piney Wood Lumber Company. Springhill's historic downtown district has been greatly enhanced by an active Main Street program.

Other nearby towns include Plain Dealing, Benton, Sarepta, Summerfield, Junction City, Minden, Athens, and Shongaloo.

Shown below are a few historic postcards from the Alexandria Postcard Collection.

Greetings from Louisiana, and Springhill
