Memories of Alexandria Friends
Cathy Cotton Nolan

Cotton Brothers began in Alexandria in 1923 in a small bakery on Third Street. Later expansion occurred when their bakery was relocated to Bolton Avenue. In 1952, yet another move occurred to their ultra modern facility on MacArthur Drive.

Shown below is a copy of a newspaper ad celebrating the 55th Anniversary of Cotton Brothers Bakeries. Offices were located in Alexandria, Shreveport, Monroe, Baton Rouge, and Natchez.

In the ad are the following: R. Gene Cotton, President and Chief Executive Officer; W.F. (Bill) Cotton, Sr. Chairman of the Board; W.F. (Fred) Cotton, Jr., VIce President and Secretary.
