Journeys Back to the Simpler Times in Alexandria The Register of Retrospective Visitors The Alexandria Postcard Collection Features

Just east of Baton Rouge on I-12 and U.S. 190 is the city of Denham Springs, located in Livingston Parish. The population of this rapidly growing community is over 10,000 residents.

Bass Pro Shops has a large store here, at the intersection of I-12 and Range Avenue. Louisiana is known as a "Sportsman Paradise", and Bass Pro caters to the large numbers of hunters, fishermen, hikers and campers in the area.

In 1827, William Denham discovered a number of mineral springs on his property located on River Road.  The city was named after Mr. Denham.

Area towns include Walker, Port Vincent, Watson, Holden, and Maurepas. The Amite River runs north-south through Denham Springs.

Shown below are a few historic postcards from the Alexandria Postcard Collection.

Greetings from Louisiana!
